What People Have Said
Tan Geok Hwa
Air Itam, Penang
"My mother kept all her retirement documents in three different places — a folder in the wardrobe, a box under the bed, and a plastic bag in the kitchen. Wei Xin spent two hours going through everything, grouped it properly and gave me a clear summary of what was there and what we needed to track down. It was a straightforward session but it saved us a lot of time and confusion later."

"I attended the five-week course with a colleague. Honestly, I was not sure what to expect — I thought it might be overly basic — but the session on correspondence logs was particularly useful. We had never thought to keep a log of calls made to EPF and the responses received. The workbook is still on my desk. I would have preferred one extra session, but overall it was time well spent."

Siti Liyana bt. Omar
Balik Pulau, Penang
"After my father passed away, we were left with decades of paperwork that nobody fully understood. The Full Household Engagement took about ten weeks in our case. Nurul came to the house several times, sorted through everything, and produced a handover map that my siblings and I could all follow. She was also very clear about which things we needed to take to a lawyer or to EPF directly — she never tried to advise on those herself."

Krishnamoorthy Palanisamy
Batu Maung, Penang
"I came in for the walkthrough just to understand what I had before meeting my financial planner. The coordinator identified three insurance policies I had completely forgotten about and flagged two EPF statements that were missing from the record. That alone made the session worthwhile. The written summary helped me have a much more organised conversation with my planner the following week."

Yap Hui Ling
Butterworth, Seberang Perai
"Rajan's course was the first time anyone had explained to me how to read the published information from EPF without immediately needing to call a financial adviser about every line. It is general information, as he is careful to say repeatedly, but understanding the structure of what is being communicated is itself useful. Small group, relaxed pace, practical exercises."

Cheah Boon Huat

"My wife and I used the full engagement. We have paperwork going back to the 1980s — her parents' documents, our own, and some from an old family property. Lim Wei Xin was methodical, patient, and never made us feel embarrassed about the state of things. The naming convention she put in place is simple enough that our daughter can follow it without asking us."

Three Households in More Detail
Names and identifying details have been changed. The administrative situation and outcomes are described accurately.
The situation
A woman in her late fifties was three years from retirement and wanted to understand what paperwork she held before beginning conversations with an EPF-registered financial planner. She had never systematically reviewed her documents and was not sure what she was missing.
What was done
A Paperwork Health Walkthrough identified seven distinct document categories. Two EPF annual statements (covering 2019 and 2021) were missing. A life insurance policy had lapsed without her noticing. All active documents were grouped, photographed and listed in a written summary.
Outcome
She arrived at her financial planner meeting with a complete summary, a gap checklist and a clear sense of what she held. The planner later commented that it was one of the more organised first-meeting document sets they had received. The lapsed insurance was confirmed and a decision made about whether to renew.

The situation
A retired couple in their early seventies had paperwork across four filing trays, two cardboard boxes and a set of ring binders that had not been opened in over a decade. Their adult children — one in Penang, one in Kuala Lumpur — could not agree on what was held or what mattered.
What was done
A Full Household Engagement ran over eleven weeks. The coordinator inventoried all storage locations, separated current from archive material, built a physical labelled set, created a digital index, and produced a handover map. Five open items requiring professional advice were identified and written down clearly.
Outcome
Both children attended the final walkthrough session. The KL-based sibling was able to navigate the archive remotely using the digital index. The five open items were distributed to the appropriate professionals — one to a lawyer, two to EPF, two to an insurance adviser. The family reported that it resolved a source of ongoing low-level disagreement.
Duration: 11 weeks · RM 4,480
The situation
A cohort of seven participants attended the five-week evening course: four were within two years of retirement, two were adult children with retired parents, and one was recently retired and finding the paperwork more complex than expected.
What was done
Five sessions covering document mapping, reading official public information, correspondence logging, scanning and naming conventions, and writing a family note. All participants received a printed workbook, template pack and recordings of each session.
Outcome
Six of the seven participants completed their own document map by the end of the course. Three reported that the correspondence log session prompted them to start a log they had never thought to keep. The recently retired participant used the family note template to write a guide for her husband — they both attended the final session to go through it together.
Duration: 5 evenings · RM 1,340 per participant
